PostBank has opened collection centres for the payment of COVID-19 Testing fees at Entebbe International Airport, a move that will further ease testing for travellers.

The government owned bank was recently appointed to oversee the collection of COVID-19 testing fees. The collection centres are intended to allow passengers travelling into Uganda pay for COVID-19 related testing fees.

“We have eased COVID-19 testing processes in a bid to extend convenient and seamless services by setting up first-class collection booths for travellers to pay for the COVID-19 test,” Post Bank said in a statement.

“To alleviate the challenges many travellers have been facing in terms of variations of COVID-19 testing fees, the government set up a COVID-19 testing facility and appointed the bank to handle payments at a standard and transparent price. We have availed a number of payment options to cater for everyone’s financial needs.”

Over counter payments will be made through Cash or Point of Sale (POS) machines. Testing or COVID-19 will each cost $30 ( about sh108,000).

Relatedly, the Ministry of Health has consequently set up testing laboratories at the airport and trained laboratory technicians, data entrants and all the other port-health staff to manage the process.
