Uganda’s July Inflation Rose To 2.1%

The Annual Headline Inflation for July 2021 rose to 2.1% compared to June’s was 2.0%, the latest Consumer Price Index from the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) shows.

UBOS’s Director, Macro Economic Statistics, Kaudha Aliziki Lubega attributed the increase to Annual Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages Inflation which rose to 0.7% in July 2021 compared minus 1.6% in June.

The Annual Core Inflation for the 12 months to July 2021 decreased to 2.5% from 2.7% of June 2021. Annual Services Inflation that decreased to -0.1% in July 2021 down from 1.4% in June 2021. Majorly in internet data fees/Internet data fees and Air Passenger transport.
